Retail Customers Order Here  ⚫  About Us  ⚫  FAQ

“I have to share my story of success working with such a great team at 1-800-Bakery. I launched a sales campaign with a targeted audience, price point, and generated a very positive ROI from it. Stephen took the time to include my sales material and hand-written note with each boxed caked before shipping.

Every message was personalized! He went out of his way to make sure these cakes were delivered on-time and had a special touch. I would highly recommend the bakery to any of my sales team members and have spread the “cake campaign” success throughout the sales team.”

How do you ship a cake?

This is the top question we get from clients. After all, how can something so rich, light and delicious survive going clear across the country? We've been doing this for years and have perfected our shipping methods. Here is the right way to ship a cake:
  1. Package the cake tightly in a fitted styrofoam mailer. The cake needs to be secure so it can't move around during transit.

  2. Insert frozen cool packs around the cake to keep it fresh. These are frozen prior and go straight from the freezer to the mailer for maximum cooling power.

  3. Place the styrofoam mailer inside a sturdy cardboard box. The mailer needs to fit perfectly to the box, with no room at all on any of the sides.

  4. Seal the box with high-quality shipping tape. Tape all the seams and smooth down the tape.

  5. Mark the outside of your box. Stickers should clearly indicate the top of the box and that the contents are both perishable and fragile.

  6. Ship your cake. Timing is important, ie if you're shipping a cake to Arizona in July, your best bet is going to be overnight shipping.

What shipping method should I use? We use UPS for reliable and fast delivery. The particular method depends on the product and your deadline. Check the product page for more information on each cake, cookie gift or other bakery treat. Highly perishable edible gifts require Next Day Air delivery.

A weather event has interrupted my order. What happens now?

We always recommend having your gift delivered a few days prior to leave room for weather interference. If a blizzard/thunderstorm/tornado gets in the way of your delivery, we will work with you and UPS to do our best to get your gift there on time. We are not responsible for disruptions in UPS shipping schedules, however. Return to Top

Are there any additional handling fees for orders going to multiple addresses?

If you're sending corporate gifts to multiple addresses, there is a drop-ship fee for each address after the first one.
