Who made the first cheesecake?

We're not entirely sure, because the earliest cheesecakes were made in Ancient Greece around 776 BC. Cheese was thought to be a source of energy, so Olympic athletes would eat cheesecakes to help them perform well in the games. 

What country does cheesecake come from?

The modern cheesecake is thought to be an invention from England,  although many different countries have their own version of cheesecake. Canada and the US use cream cheese, Italy uses ricotta and in Japan they use cornstarch and eggs. 

What is New York cheesecake?

New York style cheesecake uses heavy cream or sour cream to achieve its dense and smooth texture. It's unknown who made the first true New York style cheesecake, but the variation can be credited to the city's Jewish bakers working in restaurants and delis.
