German Chocolate Cake

A classic American treat! Contrary to popular belief due to the name, the German Chocolate cake is not from Germany. It was named after American Sam German who pioneered his own kind of dark baking chocolate in 1852. Bakers have been making it ever since using his recipe. Each German chocolate cake is made to order, baked fresh in our family-owned bakery in Winchester, MA. The cake is a chocolate layer cake topped with creamy German chocolate frosting. The layers are filled with coconut, pecans and rum, with an edge of cake crumbs around the outside. A true gourmet delight at home as the centerpiece at any dinner party or special occasion.
